Homework and Assessment Calendar

Course Information

Grading

Every Marking Period is Made up of These 2 Categories:

Assessments (Made up of Tests and Quizzes): 90%

Homework (Expect an assignment most nights): 10%

Late or Missing Assignments:

If you are absent the day an assignment is due, or the day of a test I may put a 0 in Genesis as a reminder to make up the work.

Unless you were absent for an extended period you need to make up your work within a week of coming back to school.

If you missed the last day of content, or a review day you may reschedule a test. Otherwise, you are expected to come for extra help to find out what you missed and take the test on time.

If you are in class and do not have your homework turned in on google classroom before class starts it is late. You can turn it in before the next class starts for 3/5 points.

My Expectations of You

Do your best. Math is not about memorizing, it is about thinking and problem solving. To get the most out of this class you need to think about what you are doing, and try if you get stuck.  Participate in discussions and activities.  Turn in your work on time. Be ready to work when the bell rings.

Ask questions.  If you have a question ask. Do not wait until the day before a

test to tell me you are having trouble, let me know as soon as you need help.

Be productive while you are here. We have a limited amount of time together, and I want you to get as much as possible out of this class.  I want you to have conversations about the topics we are working on, and let me give you new information when I need to. Earbuds, headphones, phones, food, or drinks (unless they have a lid) should be away the whole time you are in the room.

Be ready for assessments. Tests will always be announced, and we will always review in class. If you are in class for the review, I expect you to take the test. I will give some small unannounced quizzes, you will be able to use your notes on these.

What you can expect from me

I want to help you. If you are stuck, or confused, or have a question I want to fix that. I want everyone here to understand exactly what we are doing. When you are solving a problem, I don’t want you to write something down if you are not sure why you are doing it. I like when you ask questions. I want you to come to extra help if you did not get everything you needed from class. I will find a time for us to meet if you cannot come to my normal extra help times.
